Falling into Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year. Now, don’t get me wrong, I loved the Summer – longer, sunnier days, ice creams and iced latte’s, strolls in Hyde Park and an overall more relaxed and better mood. Autumn, however, just brings a different ambience all together, that I must say, does take preference over Summer.
When I think of falling into Autumn, it’s all about ankle boots, cozy knits, hot chocolates, cinnamon scented / spiced anything and fluffy blankets – just typing that got me really excited and brought a warmth to my soul!
To prep for the colder weeks ahead, I love to plan what I think i’ll be wearing throughout the colder months, because in all honesty, what I wear in Autumn will progress into Winter, plus a few extra basic layers.
Now, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll have probably noticed that I like to wear basics. I’m not one that usually likes to invest in trend focused pieces, because I know that i’ll like it for a few weeks and be done with it. I prefer to stick to my basics and staples and really invest in them because they’ll take me far. So when finding these pieces I had to take two factors into consideration – will I get bored of it, and toss it after 3 wears? and will it last me for the months to come?
I’ve chosen to focus on a few things in particular too – knitwear, coats and jackets and boots.
