Closet staple shopping guide

Closet staple shopping guide

For those of you who are frequent readers of this blog, you may have picked up on the fact that I prefer a minimalistic approach when I shop and style my looks. I believe in the philosophy that less is more and always keep that in the back of my mind when I shop.

This is very similar to my previous post on minimalist closet staples, but just in a bit more depth with a lot more options!

But, that doesn’t come to say that I haven’t fallen into the trap of buying things on a love at first sight basis, which for some may work out perfectly – but in my case it is a 1 week obsession and then never touched or looked at again, so I do try and stay clear of falling into this cycle!

So for this post, I have put together a little shopping guide for those of you who want to see pieces I’d probably buy for a minimal look.

There are hundreds of white blouses out there, particularly in Riess                                         but I preferred this one because I am a huge fan of high collars;                                                      I love how sophisticated, yet causal this                                                                                      blouse can look, depending on the occasion.

It’s navy , high waited and has a wide leg. What could possibly go wrong with this combination. If paired with a white / pinstripe shirt it becomes a classic ; if paired with colours it becomes a statement – you can’t go wrong with this!

blazer

Whether you like minimal , on trend , statement or casual  this is something that can and will suit any type of style or preference. Worn with trousers, jeans, skirts or dresses                                                         you have loads of room to play around with this staple.

This is something that I am almost completely sure of – a classic trench coat is here to stay. Be it early spring, autumn and in some cases winter too this is something you can surely get your years worth out of.

Two words  : Leather Jacket.  An item everyone should own. It can look casual, retro, chic, or just perfect for a slightly chilly day.

Blue denims just scream vintage and classic to me. It goes with so many things – especially other staple pieces ( Leather, white, a trench …) and this is something I would happily buy 20 of the same pair.

Black. Basic. Polo. A winter essential and if you try hard enough it can probably work in Autumn too! This is something that I will probably never get rid off.

I have bought pair after pair, after pair. To  say I have an obsession would barely be scratching the surface! It’s versatile and manages to make anything look a bit more done up.

Love all of these items! This is actually so helpful, as I love the minimalist style, but even though it sounds easy to do, I never know what to put together! Such a good list of key staples! xx
