In defence of black

In defence of black

It’s that time of the year again, where the days are getting longer, brighter and warmer ( occasionally, because it’s London) coats are being tucked away and our summer wardrobes begin to grow.

I love shopping for the spring , from florals and pastels to delicate white’s. However, I am one of those people who just can’t let go of the colour black regardless of what time of the year it is!

So I have decided not to part with my long lasting love, and instead I am going to incorporate it into my summer looks ( Or just flat out drown myself head to toe)

Although I do love an all black outfit, I do think that that a colour break is slightly necessary.  Instead of breaking up the base colours of my outfit to achieve this, I went for a colourful accessory instead.

I have fallen in love with small bags again and I must say, I absolutely adore my dusty pink, Furla cross body bag. It is small, but not too small that you can’t fit daily essentials inside ( Card holder, keys, and phone) I have had my eye on this bag in particular for little of two months and on a trip to Bicester Village a few weekends ago – I decided to make it the first purchase of my summer wardrobe.

Usually, I would always buy a bag in black because I do think it’s the safest colour to work with ; and whilst that may be true – It is refreshing to add a pop of colour in every now an again.

Whilst black may not be seen as an ideal summer colour – it will always be a firm staple and long lasting favourite of mine, regardless of the seasons; but I am trying to incorporate more colourful accessories to transform a classic all black and make it slightly more playful and fun.
